Super Bloom
Super Bloom is an assortment of recent experimental works directly from the studio of May Roded and Yeltsin Penado. Artist Duo: May and Yeltsin are sharing a work space and through their combined research and dialog have developed a series of work that incorporates a combination of artistic mediums and practices that highlight their combined talents.
May Roded is a printmaker and utilizes interdisciplinary practices that blend an array of media including printmaking, photography and drawing. Her work concentrates on themes of memory, time and the self. May currently teaches printmaking classes at Loyola Marymount University, in Los Angeles and is the Shop Manager at Josephine Press, a fine art printmaking facility, in Santa Monica.
Yeltsin Penado works in Painting, Writing and Digital Media. His work highlights experimental and fringe media through the use of narratives. Yeltsin teaches Animation and Creative Coding in Santa Monica. Yeltsin is currently working on a series of essays about pigments and street art.
